Michael Yates Winery is a family-owned producer in the Mount Veeder Appellation of Napa Valley, sourcing grapes from their 35-acre hillside vineyard farmed since 1949 and officially branding wines since 1999. Michael Yates is the winemaker, with daughters Whitney handling sales and winemaking assistance, and Mary managing business operations. They specialize in small-yield Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc from steep, hand-farmed terraces with volcanic soils.
