Dao Distillery produces rượu Äế, a traditional Vietnamese rice liquor similar to shochu or soju, distilled in California using premium Calrose and jasmine rice from the Sacramento River Delta. Founded by Dr. Binh Äà o in September 2024, it blends scientific methods with ancestral techniques from his uncle Tuong Äà o, emphasizing zero-waste practices and sustainability. In its first year, it has won multiple gold medals and the Sustainability Leader Award from the City of Rancho Cordova.
Opened as ÄÃ o Distillery in September 2024 after purchasing a functioning distillery in Rancho Cordova. Won gold medals from San Francisco World Spirits Competition and American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition, plus Gold Medal and Best of Category at New Orleans Spirits Competition in first year.
